When Ferdinand von Lochow started with the deliberate selection from his elite plants, his objective was to increase the yield potential and disease resistance of rye. The excellent results he achieved in introducing new varieties with increased yields made him known far beyond Germany. This was the foundation that led to the establishment of the KWS Cereals Division
and today’s success comes from a continued innovation in all areas of breeding and marketing.
